Join us at Bowhouse on 16th August, 12noon-1pm, for a talk byPia Östlund exploring the connections between printmaking and marine science, drawing on her work with seaweeds and nature printing.
Pia Östlund is a Swedish designer and printmaker based in London, working on collaborative site-specific projects, exhibitions and limited editions inspired by archives, library collections and nature. She revived a lost nineteenth century method of nature printing following a discovery at Chelsea Physic Garden, and in 2023 received a Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust grant, using it to develop Sea of Love, a body of work drawing on her residency at Tjärnö Marine Laboratory and the Koster Sea.
